Anambra Election: APC To Inaugurate Appeal Committee As Controversy Trails Uba’s Candidature
The All Progressives Congress says it will Inaugurates an Appeal committee to look into the deluge of complaints and grievances that trail its primary election for Anambra gubernatorial poll.
National Secretary APC Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), John Akpanudoedehe, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
According to the statement, Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe will head the five-member Anambra governorship primary appeal committee.
The party would formally inaugurate the committee on June 30 at the party’s national secretariat, Abuja.
He listed other committee members as Julius Ucha, Maryam Salifu, and Bukar Dalori, while Ijeoma Arodiogbu would serve as its secretary.
“In this capacity, the committee is expected to hear all appeals arising from the conduct of the primary election in line with the provisions of our party’s constitution and guidelines for the nomination of candidates,” said Mr Akpanudoedehe.

Fourteen aspirants were said to have participated at the APC Anambra governorship primary, held on June 26, including Andy Uba, Nwokafor Amobi Daniel, George Moghalu, Paul Izuchukwu Orajiaka, Mr Edozie Madu, and Chidozie Nwankwo.
Others were Maxwell Okoye, Col. Geoffrey Onyejegbu, Mr Azuka Okwuosa, Onwa Mokelu, Igwebuike Hygers, Godwin Okonkwo, Benneth Etiaba, and Onunkwo Obinna.
Mr Uba, re-contesting the Anambra governorship election, was announced the winner by Governor Dapo Abiodun-led APC primary election committee.
