Operatives believed to be men of the Nigerian Army have attacked the house of self-styled Yoruba freedom fighter, Sunday Adeyemo better known as Sunday Igboho.
The attack happened less than 72 hours before the planned mega rally in Lagos State.
The yet-to-be-identified gunmen attacked the Soka Ibadan residence of the secessionist leader
GreenWhiteGreen gathered that the attack occurred on Thursday midnight when the assailants stormed the area.
Igboho’s spokesperson, Mr Olayomi Koiki, confirmed the attack.
In a live video on his media page, Koiki alleged that some men adorning military uniforms carried out the attack.
According to the media aide, some persons were whisked away by the gunmen during the attack.
Details of the incident are still sketchy. Neither the police nor the military have issued a public statement on the issue.
Sunday Igboho has been in the forefront of the demand for a sovereign Yoruba nation, his agitation has put him on a collision course with the federal government who has been unrelenting and aggressive in putting out the smoldering ember of secession.
