Anambra Guber 2021: 17 candidates emerge, as 5 parties yet to nominate
Thirteen (13) political parties in Anambra state have concluded their primaries with a nominated candidate.
Meanwhile, five (5) parties are yet to conduct their primary election as the deadline stipulated by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) elapsed. INEC had slated July 1 as the last date for the exercise.
The emerged 17 candidates from the 13 political parties in Anambra include Chukwuma Soludo/Ejezie Njoku/Chukwuma Umeoji (APGA); Chief Valentine Ozigbo/Senator Ugochukwu Uba (PDP); Dr Andy Uba (APC); Senator Ifeanyi Ubah (YPP); Mr. Obiora Emmanuel Agbasimalo (LP); Azubuike Echetebu (APP); Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo (ADC); Prince Afam Ume-Ezeoke (ADP); Chief Arinze Ekeleme (SDP); Chief Uche Ugwoji (ZLP); Mr. John Ikeotuonye/Ifeoma Madukwa (AA); Alex Nwankwo (AP); Dr. Nnamdi Nwanwuo (PRP).

The five parties yet to nominate candidates include African Action Congress, AAC; Allied Peoples Movement, APM; New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP; National Rescue Movement, NRM; and Boot Party, BT.
The parties are expected to forward the names of their chosen candidate to INEC by July 9.
Since parties are only permitted to submit a name, AA, APGA and PDP will have to choose one candidate in the list of their emerging candidates.
