Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker Committee in Delta State, Prophet Jones Erue has expressed deep shock at the news of an alleged assassination attempt the party’s Vice Chairman, Delta North, Prince Fred Mordi.

He said that the alleged assassination cum robbery was one too many as he also wondered at a political motif for the attempt given the fact that Mordi had just been inaugurated as the APC vice-chairman for Delta North.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the reported assassination cum robbery was said to have taken place on Saturday.

While bemoaning the state of insecurity in Asaba and its environs where both real and political armed hoodlums allegedly parade the streets unchallenged, he described the situation as reflective of an administration and a ruling party that have failed to do their bit in equipping the police and other security agencies in the state.

Expressing suspicion over the alleged assassination attempt, Prophet Erue stressed that the timing of this heinous crime was suspect and wondered the actual intention of the assailants who robbed Prince Fred Mordi of his mobile phones, bank ATM cards, large sum of money, car key and other valuables at gun point on a day he was inaugurated as State Vice Chairman APC Delta North.

Erue as such called on the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Muhammad Ari Ali to deploy his professionalism in tracking down these assailants who vowed to return to smoke life out of the APC State Vice Chairman Delta North for standing with the shared vision of progressives ideologies as espoused by the APC.

Prophet Erue assured Prince Fred Mordi of the unflinching support of the APC leadership in Delta State in this most regrettable moment, promising to do everything legally possible to unmask those behind the dastardly act.
