TB Joshua: Tight Security, Actresses Present At Tribute Service
Amid tight security, many sympathisers including eminent personalities thronged the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) headquarters in Lagos on Tuesday for the tribute service in honour of its later founder, Prophet Temitope Joshua, popularly called TB Joshua.
Eminent personalities including the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland Gani Adams, Nollywood actresses Ronke Ojo popularly known as Ronke Oshodi Oke, Olajumoke George were sighted at the event to pay their tributes to TB Joshua
Activities for the burial of the late SCOAN founder began on Monday with a private candlelight procession.
Other activities lined up for the ceremony include lying-in-state on July 8, laying to rest and internment on July 9, and a thanksgiving service on July 11.
It was observed that security agencies including Department of State Services, Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Corps, FRSC, LASTMA, others were at strategic points and at the main entrance of the church to avoid breakdown of order among the crowd who came to bid farewell to TB Joshua.
Similarly, the entry and exit points of the church lane were barricaded to avoid vehicular movements.
Many sympathisers stood opposite the church premises to witness arrival of dignitaries who came to pay homage to the legacy of TB Joshua.
Residents who spoke with The Nation paid glowing tributes to the cleric, describing TB Joshua as a man of God who touched the lives of many poor people.
The Nation learnt the funeral activities is in strict compliance to COVID-19 safety protocols to prevent the importation, transmission or spread of the new deadly strains of COVID infection to the state.
Few church members were accredited before entry into the church premises. While others who could not gain access stood outside watching and talking.
The popular televangelist, TB Joshua died on June 5, according to the church, a few days before his 58th birthday.
