Governor Ben Ayade has gifted Land Cruiser SUVs to Cross River National Assembly members who joined him in defecting to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Governor Ayade made the gifts through his Chief of Staff, Hon Martin Orim at the Cross River Liaison Office at Abuja on Mon day July 19, 2021.

The three beneficiaries of the 3 Toyota Land Cruiser SUVs were Hon. Alex Egbons, representing Abi/yakurr Federal Constituency, Hon. Legor Idagbo who is representing Obudu, Bekwarra and Obanliku Federal Constituency and Hon. Mike Etaba, representing Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency.

Mike Etaba defected to APC in May 2021 while Idagbo and 30,000 of his supporters dumped PDP for APC last month; Egbona however is the only elected member of APC from Cross River State.

According to Governor Ayade, the car gift was a way of appreciating their loyalty to his leadership and the APC as the gifts will help facilitate their movement in the course of representing the people.

Ayade also said that the Cross River APC legislators understood the importance channeling the state to the centre, referring to them as dependable allies.

Appreciating the gifts on behalf of his colleagues, Legor Idagbo said that the loyalty of the members would remain with the State Governor, Ayade.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that Governor Ayade who stormed the political scene in Cross River State in 2010 was elected to the Senate on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in 2011 and was twice elected as governor in 2015 and 2019 on the platform of the PDP before his recent defection to the APC.
