Two unidentified gunmen were Thursday lynched by an angry mob in Kaduna after they were given a hot chase from Barnawa axis to Down-Quarters in Kakuri.

This was confirmed by the state police command in a statement by its spokesperson, Muhammed Jalige.

According to the statement, the police on Wednesday received a report from the divisional police officer that the incident occurred at about 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.

The angry mob chased down the two suspected kidnappers from Barnawa axis to Down–Quarters in Kakuri and lynched them, the police said.

Mr Jalige said the police recovered the corpses with two fabricated revolver pistols and three mobile phones.

“The bodies were evacuated to the morgue at Gwamna Awan General Hospital as investigation into the incident began”.

Jalige however added that the Commissioner of Police called on the public to avoid taking laws into their own hands but to always report criminal suspects to the police.

The commissioner advised the youth to always see security agencies as vital partners and refrain from fighting crimes via the jungle justice approach.

Meanwhile, the state police command has also confirmed the escape of two of the abducted students of Bethel Baptist High School, Maraban Damishi, in Chikun Local Government Area of the state.

ASP Mohammed Jalige, the Command’s Public Relations Officer said in a press statement that information reached the Command about the escape of the students on Wednesday.
