Fans In Dilemma As Laycon, Erica End Dispute

Former Big Brother Naija housemate and Long-time foes Erica Nlewedim aka Star Girl and Olamilekan Agbeleshe aka Laycon have settled their rift and sued for peace.

Laycon and Erica announced their reconciliation in a video on their respective instagram stories on Saturday morning.

In the video, both were seen in a cordial and soothing company.

“Hi guys say hi to the love and light guy, Laycon in the building,” Erica posted captioning #wegood.

Laycon and Erica started out as best of friends in the lockdown season, confiding in one another and seeking one another’s input in knotty and parlous situation. But their relationship hit the rock amid intrigues and heightened tension in the house. Their estrangement moved from mere dispute into fierce acrimony.

The episode culminated into Erica’s disqualification and Laycon emerging as the winner.

As it’s with every BBNaija season with potential housemate armed with a massive die-hard and slavish foot soldiers and “fan base”, the fans of each star spent months in social media war of attrition, display of utter contempt and hurling of invectives at one another and the stars to defend their idols.

While some fans and viewers of the show seemed unhappy with the reconciliation, some expressed delight at the news and commended the duo for sheathing their swords and showing “maturity”.

There are also questions about what the reconciliation will mean for those who inherited their rift and have now become vicious enemies with virtual strangers and former acquaintances.

Planned BBNaija script or not, Laycon and Erica will eventually get along. Only those that have blocked and cursed each other’s parents on the issue will feel pained to see it happen.
