The apex Court has dismissed the appeal filed by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the October 2020 governorship election in Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede, against the victory of Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld the election of the Ondo State Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu.

The main appeal filed by Jegede and his party (PDP) is challenging the competence of APC’s sponsorship of Akeredolu for the October 20 governorship poll.
The PDP candidate asked the apex court to nullify the nomination of Akeredolu and his deputy, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on the ground that they were not duly nominated by their party.
There are also three cross-appeals by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), APC and Akeredolu.
