No Missing APC Congress Forms In Delta – Erue

Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC caretaker committee in Delta State, Prophet Jones Erue has dismissed allegations over missing ward congress nomination forms, alleging that infiltrators from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP were orchestrating the hullaballoo.

Erue spoke against the background of continuing contentions between the two major tendencies in the state chapter of the APC hours to the commencement of the make or mar ward congresses in the state.

In the statement early on Friday, July 30, 2021 Erue affirmed that some party men alleging that the nomination forms were missing were ironically busy mopping up same on behalf of their unnamed patrons.

While urging party members to ignore the cries which he described as tales by moonlight, he said:

“For the avoidance of doubt and for the umpteenth time, no congress forms are missing as falsely being alluded to by paid agents of doom and anti-party elements. The congress forms were delivered on Monday the 19th July, 2021 to the State Chairman as directed.

“But due to the eid-el kabir holidays on Tuesday the 20th to Wednesday 21st July, 2021, there were no sales of congress forms in order to celebrate with our muslim brothers. Thereafter, on Thursday the 22nd of July, the sales of forms commenced at the State Secretariat and has been an ongoing exercise with eager aspirants purchasing forms in record numbers.

“Isn’t it therefore laughable and contradictory for the likes of Elvis Ayomanor, Chidi Okonji and Amorighoye Sunny Mene who are shouting to high heavens over the non-existent issue of missing congress forms, to be seriously engaged in the purchase of thousands of the same congress forms for aspirants on behalf of their benefactors/sponsors?

Erue posing questions to those he said were behind the allegations, said:
“if the congress forms are indeed missing as falsely claimed, how were they able to purchase congress forms in their thousands?

“does it mean that they only have the exclusive rights to purchase the congress forms to the detriment of other aspirants?

“As it stands today, there was no attempt by the hierarchy of the Party in Delta State to prevent or deny any aspirant(s) or interests from purchasing forms for the forthcoming congresses. Moreso, the purpose of the sale of forms is to generate revenue for the Party and the Party in Delta State would be accountable for every form sold. So the issue of missing or hijacked congress forms, is of no consequence,” Erue said.

The Delta APC chairman, concluding taunted:

“The Party therefore calls on the general public to ignore this hullabaloo and falsehood being peddled by paid agents which is meant to distract the party by failed political actors and PDP agents in APC paid to do so.”
