Keyamo: Ignore Those Playing God In Delta APC

Festus Keyamo, SAN has chastised those he Saturday claimed were trying to play ‘god’ in the Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Affirming that he and party members who believe in his leadership stayed away from the ward congresses that took place same Saturday because of the implications of the Supreme Court judgment on the Ondo State governorship election.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the minister of state, Labour and Productivity had prior to the congress issued a private and confidential memo to party stakeholders in which he called for the postponement of the congresses.

His assertions were, however, swiftly countered by Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the deputy president of the Senate who debunked the inferences postulated by the minister.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that Keyamo leads a tendency in the party that is at variance with that led by Omo-Agege who has the majority of the state executive behind him.

Without calling names, Keyamo in a follow-up to the congress which Omo-Agege had hailed as successful, chided those he claimed were trying to play god in the affairs of the party.

In a statement issued on his behalf by his media aide, Tunde Moshood, Keyamo said:

“Please, kindly disregard any social media post to the effect that the Hon. Minister made any comment about the supposed Congresses that happened or did not happen in Delta State today. It is fake news sponsored by those who want to play God in the politics of Delta State and who have refused to learn from the experiences of those who tried to do same in the past. The Hon. Minister is not in contest with anyone and is very content with his professional and political status (achieved through dint of hardwork) and believes in the adage, Que Sera Sera.

The Keyamo statement continued:

“The Hon. Minister and all party members in the State who believe in his leadership, based on his sincere and honest advice to the Party on the import of the Supreme Court judgment in the Ondo case and other issues to be highlighted later, stayed away from any supposed event in that regard.

“In the fullness of time, everyone will come to appreciate the position of the Hon. Minister. His only prayer is that it should not be too late by then.”

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the boycott of the Keyamo tendency of the ward congresses could be a significant step in the factionalisation of the party in the state.
