How We Will Punish Nwaoboshi – Delta PDP Chair
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State has vowed to make the recently defected Senator Peter Nwaoboshi representing Delta north, politically irrelevant with a crushing defeat come 2023.
Nwaoboshi who is the chairman of the Senate Committee on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) recently defected to the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Nwaoboshi is the pioneer secretary of the PDP in Delta State. He also served as commissioner during the administration of ex-governor James Ibori before becoming the state PDP chairman, a position he held till 2015 when he was elected Senator.
Receiving some defectors from APC, African Democratic Party (ADP) and Democratic Alliance (DA) in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of the state, the current state chairman of the PDP, Kingsley Esiso vowed to teach the defected Senator a political lesson.
Esiso spoke the civic reception organised by Okpanam in honour of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Patrick Ukah who hails from the town.
He said Nwaoboshi was an ungrateful politician, insisting that he betrayed his people and the PDP in Delta State.
“Your father trained you in school from primary to university, and after 21 years, you decide to fight your father, will you succeed?
“PDP made Nwaoboshi Special Adviser, Commissioner, party chairman and now Senator, yet he is ungrateful. We are waiting for him, we will crush him,” Esiso boasted.
He welcomed the new defectors led by Amaechi Ikorolo of APC from ward 03 in Illah community, saying that they would enjoy the privileges of every other member of the party.
Meanwhile, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State in his remark at the reception, while keeping mum on the defection of Nwaoboshi from the PDP, disclosed that loyalty and capacity earned Mr. Ukah the position of SSG.
Okowa Ukah’s appointment was divine, and advised him to uphold the attributes of versatility, loyalty and team spirit in the discharge of his duties.
The governor lauded people of Okpanam and the entire Oshimili North Local Government Area for organising the civic reception for their son, urging them to continue to maintain the prevailing peace in the locality.
