“That the resignation of its national officers is as a result of the inert leadership of the national chairman, and as well the movement of governors of the party to the failed ruling party.

“They as well resolved that all party stakeholders and party faithful should remain calm and resolute to the party as the party is the only hope of all Nigerians.”

When contacted on the statement, Arapaja told our correspondent on the telephone that Secondus must leave the party to make it possible to restructure.

He said, ” We issued the statement calling on Prince uche Secondus resign as the national chairman of the PDP.

“The party is sharply divided in every state and we cannot win any election this way. We lost three governors to the ruling party within a month.

“We cannot win election with the way the party is now and we need to reposition it ahead of the 2023 elections.
