Buhari Returns To Nigeria From London Friday
President Muhammadu Buhari is on his back to Nigeria after an 18-day sojourn in London, the United Kingdom where he went for a summit and thereafter took a medical vacation.
Indications of the president’s imminent return to Abuja followed the transmission of police messages signaling the deployment of men to the president’s route to the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
A police wireless message dispatched Thursday by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command to all Sector Commanders and Divisional Police Officers alerted of the President’s expected return, The Nation reported.
The wireless dispatch, which put the President’s expected arrival at 5 pm at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, directed all the receivers of the notice to mobilise adequately inward Abuja.
“Mr President will be arriving Abuja from his trip outside the country tomorrow (Friday), the 12/08/2021 by 1700hrs.
“Compol (Commissioner of Police) directs all Sector Commanders and DPOs to deploy adequately inward Abuja. Time in position, 1530hrs”, the communication reads.
Efforts to confirm the information from State House sources on Thursday after were unsuccessful.
President Buhari left Nigeria for the United Kingdom on July 26 to participate in the Global Education Summit on Financing Global Partnership for Education (GPE) 2021-2025.
President Buhari also spent a few days for his medical check-up in London, a development that stoked controversy in Nigeria.
