BANDITRY: Protest Breaks Out In Buhari’s Katsina
Some aggrieved youths in Yantumaki in the Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State, in the early hours of Monday, blocked the Katsina/Funtua highway while protesting over attacks by bandits.
It was gathered that scores of the angry youths engaged in the renewed protest after gunmen attacked Amarawa village.
No fewer than two persons were said to have been killed by the gunmen during an attack which occurred on Monday.

It was further gathered that six residents died from other attacks over the weekend in Matazu and Musawa councils.
However, eyewitnesses disclosed that the youths barricaded the Katsina/Funtua highway as early as 6am on Monday with unused tyres and debris.
It was learnt that the protest disrupted traffic flow on the highway for several hours on Monday until the invention of security operatives who later cleared the highway for motorists.
When contacted, the spokesman for the Katsina Police Command, Gambo Isah, noted that security operatives were on top of the situation, saying, “We woke up this morning with a report of protest by some youths at Yantumaki area because of bandit attack at Amarawa village where two villagers were killed by the hoodlums.
“The Command in collaboration with military and other security agencies are on top of the situation as personnel and equipment are additionally deployed to deal with the recalcitrant bandits hibernating in the area.
“The Command is calling for calm and urges members of the communities around the area to join hands with security agencies in the ongoing onslaught against the hoodlums,” the police spokesperson said.
