The Special Investigation Panel (SIP) headed by Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Force Criminal Investigations Department, DIG Joseph Egbunike, has submitted its report on Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abba Kyari.

Green White Green (GWG) recalls DCP Kyari was indicted by the United States (US) Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) over his alleged involvement in a cybercrime committed by Ramon ‘Hushpuppi’ Abbas.

Kyari was suspended by the Police Service Commission after which the SIP was activated to investigate the matter.

The former leader of the Police Intelligence Response Team was interrogated on four different occasions by the panel.

According to sources, the final report by the SIP has been submitted to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba at Force Headquarters on Monday evening.

A pre-conclusion report was said to have been submitted on Friday last week but was returned to the SIP as the Force Management Team sought more clarifications and further explanation on some grey areas

Though a source said the final report conclusion was hard on Kyari, it was further learnt that DCP Abba Kyari was able to argue that some of the accusations against him for which a US Court in the district of California issued a warrant for his arrest, were acts of vendetta meant to tarnish his reputation.
