How Gunmen Invaded Winners Chapel, Abduct Members

Unknown gunmen believed to be bandits stormed a branch of Living Faith Church Worldwide at Osara community, along Lokoja-Okene road in Adavi Local Government Council of Kogi State.

It was learnt that the kidnappers, who raided the church premises when some of its members were rehearsing during the weekend, kidnapped at least three members.

The gunmen were said to have stormed the area, shooting into the air to scare away residents before whisking the victims to an unknown destination, sources have revealed. 

The Chairman of Adavi Local Government Council, Joseph Omuya Salami, confirmed the development to newsmen through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Habeeb Jamiu.

According to him, the chairman had visited the scene in company of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Osara Division since the very sad incident occured.

Habeeb Jamiu also added that the council was working with security agents in the area to ensure that the victims are rescued unhurt.

The Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Williams Ovye Aya, had not answered calls for comment as at press time.
