Aisha Yesufu Election

Aisha Yesufu, the energetic civil rights activist famous for her role in putting governments to account has given a time when she could consider seeking election into a public office in the country.

In a tweet she sent out on Saturday, Aisha Yesufu had lamented the obsession by many people for political office which according to her she saw as a punishment.

Following her lament at the obsession, the civil rights activist who is also a successful businesswoman said she was too focused on herself to consider serving others in public office.

Aisha Yesufu, concluded by saying that she would, however, consider such a call to contest election in 10 years.

She said:

I am always surprised at people’s obsession with being in public office. I see it as punishment. For what nah? So I will be serving you and be accountable to you for my time and also what I say? Taaaaaaaaaaaaah! For now, I am too selfish and focused on me! Maybe in 10 years sha

Her tweet was surprisingly passed off by her many followers. But one Twitter user who responded with scorn to Aisha Yesufu seeking election said:

AGK @its_AGK replying to her tweet said:

Then after 10years, we too would be surprised that you got obsessed with power?? Woozy face

It was an assertion that brought a response from Aisha Yesufu who said that that was the reason why voters should hold those who seek election into office accountable.

That is reason you must make demands, demands, demands on me so I will not grow wings and horns.

A more understanding twitter user in appreciation of Aisha Yesufu’s past actions observed that her lamentation of the obsession for public office could only be because of her honest intentions.

Remarkably, Aisha Yesufu has over the years ridiculed the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the All Progressives Congress, APC and should the two parties survive the next ten years it would be a shock for her to use the platform of either party. Some also say it would be doubtful if any of the two parties would also welcome the lady into their midst.
