Man Drags Ex-Wife To Court Over Paternity Of Baby
A 57-year-old businessman, Abdulhamid Yakubu on Monday dragged his ex-wife, Maryam Muhammad before a Shari’a court sitting in Magajin Gari, Kaduna, denying the paternity of a one-year-old boy.
The development in Kaduna comes in the wake of the evolving story of the squabble between Lagos OAP, Chinedu Ani and his ex-wife over the paternity of her first child.
Yakubu, in his petition, said that he raised an alarm on the issue of paternity before the baby was born but the defendant kept saying the child was his.
“Even before I divorced her in March 2021, I told her older sister that the baby was not mine because she moved out of our house without my permission,” he said.
On her part, Muhammad said she gave birth to their son in August 2021 and that the baby belonged to her husband.
After listening to both sides, the judge, Malam Murtala Nasir ordered the parties to present their guardians in court on Sept.16.
Meanwhile, GreenWhiteGreen GWG had earlier reported how Uzoamaka Ohiri, the ex-wife of comedian and talk show host, Chinedu Ani, a.k.a Nedu opened up on the paternity crisis of her first child and how she carried another man’s child into her marriage.
Speaking her mind on Punch Live last Tuesday Ms. Ohiri confessed that her first child did not belong to Nedu but that she did not get to know until the DNA test conducted by her former husband.
According to her she was pregnant during her relationship with her former boyfriend before she met Nedu.
She debunked claims that she was unfaithful during the marriage saying that she could not have known that the pregnancy came from the past relationship and deliberately carried it to Nedu.
She spoke following claims by her former husband, Nedu that she was unfaithful through the marriage which caused her to bring another man’s baby to the marriage.
