Mercy Aigbe’s Ex, Lanre Gentry Facing Trouble Over New Marriage

A new controversy has arisen over the relationship between Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe and her former husband, Lanre Gentry despite the well-publicized and successful traditional marriage of the latter to a new wife last weekend.

 GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that following the traditional marriage, that Lanre Gentry had paraded his new wife, Oluwabusola on Instagram praising her as a reliable partner, According to him, every man needs a good wife in life’s journey.

He wrote: “In every journey of a man’s life, having a good wife by the side is a great blessing from God… Thank you for standing with me.

Whether the post was to shade his ex, Mercy Aigbe or not, the post has received a response from the super actress.

In a post on Instagram, Mercy Aigbe showing forth an engagement ring on her finger, said:

“Still Nobody’s Ex ?.”

The interpretation of her post was on Wednesday being given loads of meaning and implication for Lanre Gentry and his new wife, Olubusola.

 GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that despite their serious differences and rancarous separation, that Mercy Aigbe had claimed that Lanre Gentry had not signed the divorce papers she sent to him.

She had in an interview earlier in 2021 with The Punch, begged her former husband to sign the divorce papers.

Asked if she was formally divorced from Lanre Gentry, Mercy Aigbe had said:

“No. Please, everyone should appeal to him to sign the divorce papers. He has even refused to accept them. We are still married and not yet divorced. The divorce is not yet finalized. Maybe I should use this medium to appeal, you guys should help me beg him to let me go.”

 GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that Mercy Aigbe had during the last Father’s Day Celebration mocked Lanre Gentry for being a dead beat dad who had refused to live up to his responsibility as a father of their child together.

It was being interpreted in some quarters that Mercy Aigbe taunting that she is nobody’s ex, could be a threat to Lanre Gentry to come forward to sign the divorce papers or face legal consequences of bigamy should he go ahead to wed his new bride, Oluwabusola. That is unless he has signed the divorce papers since their last past Father’s Day conflict.
