FIFA RANKINGS: Nigeria Retains 34th Spot worldwide, 5th In Africa
The Super Eagles of Nigeria have retained the 34th spot in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola rankings for September.
Nigeria retained the 1,492 points from the August rankings, despite the Super Eagles recording two wins in their 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde.
Nigeria beat the Lone stars of Liberia 2-0 and the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde 2-1 in the qualifying matches.
The latest ranking sees Nigeria remain the fifth-placed team on the African continent behind the Teranga Lions of Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco respectively
On the world stage, the Red Devils of Belgium and the Samba Boys of Brazil retained the first and second spot respectively, while the Three Lions of England upstaged France to the third spot, with Les Bleus settling for the fourth spot.
