Napoli striker Victor Osimhen scored a brace to help the Serie A side come from behind and salvage a 2-2 draw against Leicester City in their Europa League Group C fixture at the King Power Stadium.

Napoli found themselves on the back foot early on, falling behind just nine minutes into the match, courtesy of a Ayoze Perez goal, the striker’s first in 15 games.

It went from bad to worse for Napoli, as Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho set up Harvey Barnes with a perfectly-weighted pass to put Leicester City 2-0 up in the 64th minute.

It didn’t take long for Napoli to pull one back, a beautiful lobbed finish from Osimhen cut the deficit in half five minutes later.

Napoli piled the pressure in search of an equalizer, Politano blasted a free kick over in the 77th minute, Elmas came closer in the 81st minute, but his effort was saved by Schmeichel.

Napoli’s efforts finally paid off in the 87th minute, a cross from Politano found Osimhen who planted a header beyond Schmeichel to rescue a dramatic equalizer for the Italian side.

The night couldn’t get any worse for Leicester as they not only blew a two-goal lead, the Foxes were reduced to ten men, as Wilfred Ndidi was shown a second yellow in the third minute of extra time. The sending off will see the Nigerian midfielder miss Leicester’s trip to Legia Warsaw later this month
