Former Italy Striker hails Osimhen, says he’s like Drogba
Former Italy and Lazio striker Beppe Signori has compared Super Eagles and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen to Ivorian and Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba.
In a chat with an Italian Sports daily, Signori was full of high praise for Osimhen, who helped Napoli pull from two goals down to secure a late draw at Leicester City in their Europa League Group C opener
Signori said: “He has everything: technique, strength, elevation, speed and power. He is a player who is still young, he has room for improvement and I think he has shown a part of what he can do.”
When asked about making a comparison, the former Lazio hitman stated: “I say Drogba. They are very similar physically and technically.”
Osimhen has made two appearances in the Serie A this season, failing to find the back of the net in any, but his dominant display against Leicester City is sure to fill the Super Eagles striker with confidence.
Osimhen scored ten goals, and assisted thrice in the 2020-21 Serie A season with Napoli.
