Delta Girl Dumped By Boyfriend Commits Suicide

A Warri, Delta State-based teenager identified as Blessing was on Sunday reported to have committed suicide using snipper after her boyfriend allegedly dumped her for another girl.

The girl according to The Punch resided at Arubayi Street, Warri, allegedly drank a bottle of Sniper, a banned insecticide.

Her body according to sources was reportedly discovered in the bathroom by neighbours who raised the alarm following the discovery.

Attempts to revive her at a hospital in the neigbourhood failed as the hospital officials confirmed her dead on arrival.

The girl’s problems according to sources started after her boyfriend got into a relationship with another girl leading to the break-up of their relationship.

Before she allegedly killed herself, it was gathered that the Delta girl, Blessing had repeatedly threatened to commit suicide after the boyfriend dumped her for the other girl.

The identity of the boyfriend has, however, not been unfolded.

The Police Public Relations Officer for Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe when asked by newsmen to respond to the development said he had not been briefed on the development with a promise to get back to the newsmen subsequently.

The development in Delta State came as the police in Ogun State arrested a 45-year-old man, Olaoluwa Jimoh, for allegedly impregnating his daughter, in Ode-Remo area of the state. The victim according to the police said the father raped her several times with a warning to kill her if she told anyone.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Police Spokesman in Ogun State, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi.

“The command arrested Jimoh, on Sept.16, for allegedly impregnating his 19-year-old daughter.

“The randy father was arrested following a complaint lodged at the Ode Remo Divisional Headquarters by the victim.
