Why Obi Is Now A Political Failure – Soludo

Anambra All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA governorship candidate, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has lampooned the immediate past governor of the state, Mr Peter Obi as a political orphan and explained why he has remained a political failure since he left office.

The APGA candidate who spoke at the flag-off of his campaign in Akwa on Saturday also vowed to create 1,000 millionaires under his wealth creation program

He spoke as the outgoing governor of the state, Chief Willie Obiano gave an account of his stewardship saying he had lifted the state above where he met it.

While appreciating Governor Obiano over what he did in the state, Soludo also paid compliments to Mr. Obi the penultimate governor of the state. according to him, Obi performed because he served on the platform of APGA.

Soludo said that it was rather unfortunate that since he left APGA that Obi has not been able to win anything and that anyone who touches him fails. He said that the repeated failures was because of the vow he said that Obi made that he made that he would never leave APGA.

Referencing the alleged vow by Obi, Professor Soludo said that one can not swear under God and expect to succeed.

Pledging that his government would produce one thousand millionaires every year, Soludo said:

“If I am elected the next governor,  my administration will produce one thousand  youth millionaires every year.

” By the grace of God,  the next APGA government will ensure that 130, 000 jobs are created yearly in Anambra,” he promised.

Soludo,  flanked by his running mate, Dr Ifeanyi Ibezim,  said his vision was to ensure that any child born in Anambra would not leave the state  in search of greener pastures elsewhere.

Gov. Willie Obiano who also spoke,  said he was proud to have Soludo as his potential successor, adding  that the former CBN governor had the pedigree and contact to drive Anambra to the next level.

Obiano who listed the signature projects he did to include the Anambra Airport, 12, 000 seating capacity International Conference Centre and Awka Stadium, said he was convinced that Soludo would do better than him.

“The former APGA government before me did well, my government performed better and I hope if elected,  Soludo will be best,” he said.

Obiano said, with Soludo, APGA would  have  landslide victory at the poll.

Dr Victor Oye,  National Chairman of APGA who handed the flag of the party to Soludo, said they were out to win the  election.

NAN reports that some other personalities including Mrs Ifeoma Ekwueme, wife of Nigeria’s first executive vice president, Dr Alex Ekwueme and  Sen. Victor Umeh also  spoke during the event.

Notable artistes like; Flavour (Chinedu Onyemaechi)  Zubi Michael,  Awka Edochie among others,  performed at the rally held at the Ekwueme Square.

The rally was  attended by hundreds of APGA chieftains and supporters,  drawn from the 21 Local Government Areas of the state and beyond. (NAN)
