Reactions In Nigeria As Tinubu 2023 Media Blitz Hits London

Associates of All Progressives Congress, APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu have commenced a media blitz for his reported 2023 Presidential campaign in London, where the foremost politician has been based in the last few months.

The publicity blitz in London has expectedly generated strong and mixed reactions from Nigerians on social media with proponents and critics of Tinubu venting their feelings on the development.

Confirmation of the campaign emerged in a viral video, shared by Arise TV on Monday in which, images of the APC national leader, who is recuperating in London, were on display at some trains and train stations.

It was also reported that the posters were also found at Heathrow Airport as well which is a major gateway for most Nigerians coming into and going out of London, the United Kingdom’s political and commercial capital.

Tinubu’s photographs were also pasted on the walls and the escalator.

Tinubu’s spokesman, Tunde Rahman was, however, quick to deny the involvement of Tinubu in the pasting of the posters, saying, “We don’t know who is behind it”, as he guessed that it may have been some UK based Nigerians supportive of Tinubu.

Some of the messages in the advert blitz read: “Asiwaju for 2023′, “Call to Serve, Let’s Go”, “Asiwaju the right man for the job”, “Yes We can”, “Asiwaju Ready to serve”.

Many groups supportive of the reported aspiration of Tinubu for the presidency have surfaced, however, the absence of the politician from Nigeria has slowed down their momentum.

 GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that Tinubu has been in London where he has allegedly been recuperating from a surgery to his leg. While in London, Tinubu has received several high caliber political allies and even rivals including President Muhammadu Buhari, Governors Rotimi Akeredolu, Kayode Fayemi, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Abdullahi Ganduje, folks who are in one way or the other expected to be critical for or against his expected campaign.

One of those who reacted known as SarkinYaki responding to the development said:

You can see how thoughtless this is ..I Imagine starting your campaign to lead Africas poorest country by paying for Ads in UK public transportation …You use hospital in UK and think UK ad companies need your campaign dollars more than us in Nigeria. ..I have screens like this in Nigeria yet finding it hard to get people like Tinubu to Patronize us.

Another critics said:

For not speaking out when yorubax were oppressed nothing will make me vote for Tinubu…..

But they were countered by Tinubu supporters among whom was Yyba who said:
