Former Presidential Aide Reno Omokri has tackled the Federal government for its decision to go after the owner of AbokiFX.

Recall that earlier this month, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) declared Oniwinde Adedotun, founder of AbokiFX, wanted.

AbokiFX is a website that publishes the parallel market exchange rate of the naira against other currencies.

Godwin Emefiele CBN Governor said Oniwinde started the AbokiFX operation in 2015 and has since ”milked the economy by manipulating the exchange rate.” He added that Oniwinde will be prosecuted for ‘endangering the Nigerian economy.’

In a notice shared on its website on Friday September 17, AbokiFX said it will “temporarily suspend rate updates on all their platforms until they get better clarity of the situation”.

Reacting to the report a few days after, Reno wondered if going after Oniwinde has made the Nigerian economy better.

”They said AbokiFX was responsible for the fall in the Naira? They blocked his account. Destroyed his company. Made his staff unemployed. All for what? Has the Naira appreciated? Useless cowards. CBN Governor that Buhari’s cabal has turned to houseboy. Face bambiala Buhari and tell him the truth to his face! It is his beggarly nature that is destroying the Naira. Beg Americans. Beg British. Beg The Netherlands. Beg Chinese.

Meanwhile, every minute, 6 Nigerians fall into extreme poverty. Nobody can drive from one city to the other without first writing their will. Life in Nigeria is short and brutish. Young people cant trade #Cryptocurrency because he is afraid of #EndSARS. And you want me to keep quiet because I am privileged? What about my people? Should I be that selfish?”he wrote on his IG page.
