Arsenal, Brighton Share Spoils In 0-0 Draw
Arsenal scrapped to a 0-0 draw away at Brighton and Hove Albion, as the Seagulls lacked the cutting edge to put the Gunners to the sword, recording over 20 shots in the matchday 7 encounter.
The draw sees Arsenal extend their unbeaten run to four league games, after losing their opening three fixtures.
Brighton started brightly in the first half, recording eight shots in the first half, although none on target.
The hosts were unlucky to not be ahead while Arsenal’s best chance fell to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who hit the outside of the post with a header.
Brighton emerged the better side in the second half, following up on their first-half performance.
It finished goalless and this result leaves Brighton fifth in the table, while Arsenal are four places below them in ninth.
The point is enough to lift Brighton into fifth place on 14 points, one ahead of champions Manchester City, who play their game in hand tomorrow at Liverpool. Arsenal move into ninth on ten points, one ahead of Brentford; the Bees play their extra game at West Ham tomorrow.
