European champions, Chelsea will be looking to recover from back-to-back losses against Manchester City and Juventus when they host Southampton at Stamford Bridge on Matchday 7 on the English Premier League

The Blues who sit in 3rd place on the log, have encountered a recent dip in form after starting the season brightly, registering their first two defeats in their last two games and will be looking to bounce back when they welcome 16th place Southampton for a 3 pm kickoff on Saturday.

Chelsea have been otherwise impressive in the Premier League winning four games while drawing and losing one apiece and will be buoyed against a Southampton side who have struggled for form and goals. The Saints have drawn four and lost two games this season in the Premier League, while ranking as the 17th team in the league based on goals scored per match, with an average of 0.7 goals per game, a stark contrast from Chelsea’s 2.0 goals per game.

Despite Southampton’s slumbering form, the Blues will be cautious as they haven’t scored in their last two games and are going up against a Saints side who haven’t lost to Chelsea in their last three meetings (1W, 2D), and are unbeaten in their last four away games including a 0-0 draw at the Etihad against Man City.

Chelsea will be boosted by the return of Mason Mount from injury and will be looking to star striker Romelu Lukaku to boost their chances of picking three points at home and will be hoping he breaks his 2-match goal drought today.
