Politicians Go Underground In Anambra As Gunmen Burn Joe Igbokwe’s Home, DSS, FRSC Offices

Politicians in Anambra State were at the weekend going underground as the reign of unknown gunmen continued in the state with the Nnewi home of All Progressives Congress, APC chieftain Joe Igbokwe and offices of the Department of State Services, DSS and Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC among the latest targets.

Joe Igbokwe who had recently accused the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB for masterminding the killing of Dr. Chike Akunyili was quick to apportion blame to the secessionist group for the calamity on his Nnewi country home.

Sources disclosed to  GreenWhiteGreen GWG that many politicians in Anambra State prior to the attack on the Joe Igbokwe country home had gone underground.

 GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that Senator Andy Uba, the All Progressives Congress, APC governorship candidate in the forthcoming election had last weekend suspended the flag-off of his campaign in election after the attack on the entourage of a member of the House of Representatives Chris Emeka Azubogu.

Azubogu who represents Nnewi North/Nnewi South/Ekwusigo Constituency in the House of Representatives had recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the APC.

The attack on his convoy came days after Dr. Chike Akunyili, the widower of the erstwhile minister of information, Prof. Dora Akunyili was also killed in cold blood.

According to reports, banners and billboards bearing campaign messages are being pulled down while branded campaign vehicles are disappearing from the streets.

It has also been reported that many government and private institutions have also removed the Nigerian flag from their offices apparently in obedience to the recent instruction by IPOB.

Confirming the attack and fire on his Nnewi, Anambra State home, Joe Igbokwe in a video shared on his Facebook page said:

Here it is. My Home in Nnewi has been sacrificed. No life was lost. To God be the glory.

The attack on the offices of the DSS and FRSC offices according to sources was carried out by unidentified men who have now taken the bearing of unknown gunmen.

Mysteriously, the attacks on the political actors and institutions have been blamed on unknown gunmen who have yet to be apprehended. Some government officials have been.
