Chief Ayiri Emami who was on Tuesday removed as the Ologbotsere of Warri has vowed to take the battle to His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III by asking his lawyers to stop him from parading as the Olu of Warri.

In his first reaction to the pronouncement of the Olu removing him as Ologbotsere, Emami said that the monarch did not have the right to remove him given that the two of them were already in court over the process of his emergence as the Itsekiri monarch.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that Ayiri Emami had vehemently objected to the emergence of the former Prince Tsola Emiko as the Olu of Warri and had instigated court processes and lobbied for the truncation of the coronation.

Ayiri Emami was also absent at the beautifully packaged coronation that brought grace and glory to the Itsekiri kingdom.

Ayiri Emami was also absent on his assigned date for the validation of his chieftaincy title as was expected of all Warri chiefs at home and abroad.

It was learnt that at a meeting with the Ologbotsere family in Warri on Tuesday that Ogiame Atuwats III had announced the deposition of Ayiri Emami as the Ologbotsere of Warri.

Reacting in an interview with NIGER DELTA TODAY, Ayiri Emami contested the action with a vow to take up the matter by asking the court to stop His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III from parading as Olu of Warri.

He said:

“He has no power to do so. I don’t recognised him as Olu of Warri. I’m already in court with him. I’ll take further action to tell the court to stop him from parading himself as Olu.

“I’m already challenging the processes that produced him but now I am consulting my lawyers to file a new motion stopping him from parading himself as our king”, Ayiri stated.

On the meeting between the monarch and the Ologbotsere family, the billionaire businessman and politician, said “he (Olu of Warri) invited the Ologbotsere family for meeting and my people honoured him where he made the pronouncement.

“He did not hear from his guests – Ologbotsere family. The family (Ologbotsere family) have agreed to meet on Thursday to review and take a position in this latest development. The meeting will hold in Warri.”
