Bill Clinton hospitalised

President Bill Clinton who served as president of the United States of America between 1993 and 2001 has been hospitalized.

A statement by Dr. Alpesh Amin, chair of medicine at UC Irvine Medical Center, said Clinton was admitted to the hospital’s intensive care unit for a urinary tract infection that spread to his bloodstream, CNN reports.

“He was admitted to the ICU for close monitoring and administered IV antibiotics and fluids.

“He remains at the hospital for continuous monitoring.

“Clinton is in good spirits, talking to family and staff, and has been up and walking.

“After two days of treatment, his white blood cell count is going down and he is responding to antibiotics well. We hope to discharge him soon,” the statement said.

Also, Clinton’s spokesman, Angel Urena said on Thursday that the former President is “on the mend” and “in good spirits.”

“He was admitted to UCI Medical Center to receive treatment for a non-Covid-related infection.

“He is on the mend, in good spirits, and is incredibly thankful to the medical team taking care of him,” Urena said in confirming the news that Bill Clinton had been hospitalized.

President Clinton is married to Hilary Clinton who served as Secretary of State in the administration of Barack Obama and made an unsuccessful bid in 2016 to be president after emerging as the first woman to win the presidential ticket of a major political party in the United States.
