The spokesperson of the Ebonyi State Police Command, Loveth Odah, confirmed the attack to Newsmen.
She said the command has sent officers to the affected station.
She was unable to give more details of the attack, however, according to reports, operational vehicles were also set ablaze by the gunmen while some officers sustained bullet wounds.
Sources are of the opinion that the attack may not be unconnected to the current unrest in some parts of the southeast following the declaration of a sit-at-home order by members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
