Zidane Has No Interest In Man United Job – Report

Former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is not interested in joining Manchester United if the Red Devils choose to part ways with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Solskjaer is under immense pressure to keep his job, with recent reports linking Antonio Conte and Zidane to The Man United job.

However, according to the reliable Spanish outlet, Mundo Deportivo, the Frenchman is solely focused on resting and recovering after leaving the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of last season.

From the minute he left Real, Zidane decided that he was going to take a break from management to recharge his batteries after a mentally and emotionally challenging season, and he is not looking at joining any team this season, let alone United.

Having said that, Zidane has privately made it clear that the only two sides capable of luring him back sooner than expected would be Paris Saint-Germain, who are struggling with life under Mauricio Pochettino, or the French national team.

According to reports, United chiefs held a meeting on Monday and were believed to be ‘seriously considering’ sacking Solskjaer after a miserable run which extends back further than most at Old Trafford would care to admit.

With four of United’s next five games coming against Tottenham, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal, the Red Devils don’t want to throw themselves into disarray at this point in time, but there are concerns that a refusal to change could be fatal to the team’s hopes of a successful season.

Conte is open to speaking to United about taking over, but sources have revealed that he is wary of how much the English side would actually want him at Old Trafford and would need plenty of assurances over United’s direction and board-room management before even considering signing a contract.
