Prospective NYSC Members, Others Regain Freedom From Abductors
Two prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, a university undergraduate including some indigenes of Benue State abducted in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State while on transit have regained freedom.
It was gathered that the kidnapped victims included two NYSC members, Jennifer Awashima Iorliam and Joseph Zakaria who were going to their orientation camp in Kebbi State before the incident happened.

Others who regained freedom were Sedoo Kondo, an undergraduate of Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto, who was on her way to school; Ruth Sesuur Tsokar, who was visiting a relation in Kebbi and two brothers, Muhammadu Saminu and Safiam Muhammadu who were on their way to Sokoto State.
The victims had travelled in a Benue Links vehicle which they boarded from Makurdi before they were taken captive over 13 days ago.
A relation of one of the released victims, Judith Iorliam, told journalists in Makurdi on Wednesday that they were set free about 6pm on Tuesday.
“Yes, they were released yesterday (Tuesday) at 6pm,” she stated joyfully.
Meanwhile, it was gathered that the collaborative efforts of Governor Samuel Ortom, the management of Benue Links and the families of victims paid off in securing the release of the victims.
