Tinubu, Osinbajo Meet Amid 2023 Tensions
Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), met in Abuja on Friday according to pictures circulated by the Presidency.
One of the pictures saw the two men locked in a warm embrace reflective of a first physical meeting between the two men who are ironically being positioned by support groups to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.
GreenWhiteGreen GWG had recently reported how a Tinubu Support Group kicked after it emerged that the All Progressives Congress, APC national secretariat had recognized an Osinbajo support group as an official support group for the 2023 presidential election.
GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that following the perceived interests of the two men that their close supporters have reportedly been taking positions on a possible contest by the two men for the succession.
Osinbajo served for eight years in the Bola Tinubu cabinet in Lagos State as attorney general and commissioner for justice.
Tinubu was reported to have also propped or backed Osinbajo for the office of vice-president when the national leader was ruled out on account of religion as APC leaders refused a Muslim/Muslim ticket in 2015.
No details were given of the meeting between the two men on Friday. It, however, happened a few weeks after Tinubu returned from a three month medical trip abroad.
While abroad several political stakeholders in the APC visited with Tinubu. Osinbajo’s absence in the visitor’s roll has been marked by some stakeholders as an issue between the two men.
