As APC Crises Deepen, Police Take Over National Secretariat
The crises in the All Progressives Congress, APC snowballed into a physical barricade on Wednesday when the police in Abuja took over the national headquarters of the ruling party located on Blantyre Street in Abuja.
The police officers it was gathered came in four patrol vans and blocked the exit and entry points of the building. The police officers were subsequently joined by some operatives from the Department of State Service, DSS.
According to news reports, the security officials were moved to the party headquarters in a bid to forestall a possible breakdown of law and order within the precincts of the headquarters of the ruling party.
The request for the security men it was gathered, came in the wake of reports of a plan by some members of the party to protest against the party’s leadership over the conduct of the recently conducted Ward, local government and state congresses.
