The dollar video controversy in which Governor Abdullahi Ganduje was depicted as collecting dollars from contractors has resurfaced in the crisis rocking the Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The dollar controversy resurfaced after the penultimate governor of the state, and former minister of education, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau mocked Governor Ganduje as the king of stuffing dollars.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that at the height of the controversy after a news website released the videos that Governor Ganduje denied being the one in the videos. He has also gone to court to try to clear his name.

However, addressing supporters in his residence in Kano, Shekarau, hit Governor Ganduje as the “king of stuffing.”

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the difference between the two men came to fore during the recent battle for the structure of the APC in Kano during which Ganduje accused Shekarau and Senator Barau Jibrin of “collecting money in Abuja” without doing anything for their people.

Ganduje had said, “You have failed to deliver good projects to your constituents and when you start facing problems, you then blame for your travails?

“The money you are collecting in Abuja has not come down to your constituents, and then you’re blaming me? You’re taking me as scapegoat to your problems?”

Responding, Shekarau immediately resurrected the Ganduje dollar controversy when while addressing his supporters, Shekarau asked a popular radio contributor, Alhajiji Nagoda, to tell Kano people who is the master of “stuffing dollars in his pocket”.

“Alhaji claims to be the leader of collecting, but I’m now calling on him to tell the people of Kano who is the king of stuffing [dollars]?” Shekarau said, to the applause of the crowd in mockery of Gov Ganduje over the dollar video which the governor has denied.
