Embattled Solskjaer Holds Crunch Talks With Key Man United Players
Embattled Manchester United manager, Ole Gunner Solskjaer held crunch talks with six senior players, ahead of the Premier League’s resumption.
According to the Daily Mail, Solskjaer met with Bruno Fernandes, Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Victor Lindelof, and Nemanja Matic at the United’s Carrington training complex on Thursday morning.
The Red Devils face off against Watford and fancy their chances against Ranieri’s side, but will be wary after winning just one of their last six premier league fixtures, including embarrassing defeats to bitter rivals Liverpool and Man City.
That poor run of form has seen pressure pile heavily on Solksjaer and Man United who will be looking to take advantage of a Watford side that has the fourth-worst defensive record in the league and sits just two points above the relegation zone.
In addition to fans calling for Solskjaer’s sack, reports have it that key players have grown frustrated with the Norwegian this season, with Portuguese talisman Bruno Fernandes, said to be one of the disgruntled players. His fellow compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo, although not expecting to find the exact same club he left in 2009, is said to be ‘shocked’ by how far standards have fallen.
