Former Commissioner, Delta Guber Aspirant Kenneth Okpara Is Dead
A former Delta state commissioner and 2023 governorship aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Olorogun Kenneth Okpara is dead.
Okpara was appointed as Delta Commissioner of Economic Planning (September 2011- July 2013), and subsequently Finance Commissioner (July 2013- May 2015) in the Emmanuel Uduaghan-led administration
He died in the early hours of Friday, 19th November 2021, at Capital Hill Hospital, Warri at the age of 60, after battling an unnamed illness.
The news of the demise was confirmed by serving Delta state commissioner for Urban Renewal, Olorogun Arthur Akpowowo, who revealed that Okpara had been very ill and was taken to the hospital for medical attention.
Brief Biography on Olorogun Kenneth Okpara
Olorogun Okpara was born on the 8th of February, 1961 into the Okpara Dynasty of Eku, in the Ethiope East Local Government, Delta State.
He attended C.M.S. primary school in Eku, from there, he proceeded to Saint Peter’s Claver, Aghalokpe for his secondary education and bagged a BSc in Accounting from the University of Maiduguri in 1987.
Looking to further his education, Olorogun Okpara studied at the prestigious Cambridge University, where he obtained a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA). He also attended Harvard University’s Cutting Edge of Development Thinking Programme in May 2013, and Cambridge University London, Judge Business School in April 2011.
Okpara was also an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria,1999, a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation 1998.
