2023: Tinubu Spreads Tentacles North And East

Despite continuing permutations by the cabal in the All Progressives Congress, APC to diminish him, national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was at the weekend spreading his tentacles towards the North and Eastern flanks of the country.

On Saturday two important developments emerged as it was announced that Hajiya Mariya Buhari, wife to Katsina Deputy governor, Alhaji Mannir Yakubu, has been appointed National women leader of the Tinubu support organisation (TSO).

In another development, Tinubu had a rendezvous with Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu signposting an important bridge towards the Southeast where the former Lagos State governor has been measured to be weakest in the country.

The 2023 presidential aspiration of the former Lagos State governor is said to be least reckoned with in the Southeast given that no significant Igbo person has identified with him besides his often caricatured Lagos based apologist, Mr. Joe Igbokwe.

The meeting on Saturday in Abuja with Orji Kalu was believed to be an important landmark in assessing his chances among the Igbo elite.

 GreenWhiteGreen GWG had reported Tinubu as saying after the meeting “We discussed the way forward for the country and this country is important and greater than anyone’s personal ambition.”

In another development indicative of how Tinubu is spreading his political tentacles, it emerged that Hajiya Mariya Buhari, wife to Katsina Deputy governor, Alhaji Mannir Yakubu, has been appointed National woman leader of the Tinubu support organisation (TSO).

The appointment of such a high profile woman, the state’s number two lady is expected to indicate a level of acceptance of Tinubu by the political elite as led by Governor Aminu Bello Masari.

The move is significant given that it could add Katsina to the basket of vote rich Northern APC States now following Tinubu.

 GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that Kano, Borno, Lagos which are arguably the states with the richest basket of votes in the country are fanatically tending towards Tinubu.

The campaign by Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila for direct primaries is also believed to help the Tinubu bid as the high voting states would easily be groomed to turn their votes to Tinubu in a party primary.

However, Tinubu’s political rivals are believed to be frustrating him using their leverage over the party’s present leadership which is in the hands of the cabal that is fanatically opposed to him.
