Ayu hails Atiku on his birthday as a great fighter for democracy

The incoming National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Iyorchia Ayu has hailed former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, on his 75th Birthday.

In a statement Dr. Ayu personally signed, he described Atiku, who is also the Waziri Adamawa, as a one of the great fighters for democracy.

The statement reads:

“The former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, is one of the great fighters for democracy,  unity and cohesion among Nigerians.

“Atiku Abubakar is a leader who has consistently fought for sustainable democracy and social justice in the country

“On behalf of myself, family and entire PDP family, I pray to God to give him good and healthy life , and strength to continue to serve our country and humanity in general.

“Congratulations Waziri Adamawa my friend and brother”, the statement from Ayu to Atiku on his birthday concluded.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that Atiku Abubakar was 75 on Thursday and sought to underplay the significance of the milestone as he used the day to commission projects undertaken by the Bauchi State Government.

Besides Senator Ayu, the PDP and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa also sent congratulations to the former vice-president on the birthday landmark.

The PDP in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan in Abuja on Thursday, said it was proud of Abubakar.

The PDP described him as an irrepressible democrat, who remains untiring in his efforts and sacrifices toward the unity, stability and development of the nation.

Governor Okowa in a message by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, in Asaba on Thursday, lauded Atiku for his remarkable commitment to the unity and progress of the nation through his outstanding economic and political activities.
