PDP Prayer Network, a group within the Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has taken a former attorney general of the state, Mr. Ume Kalu to task over a letter allegedly credited to him in which he questioned the motif of the present leadership of the state.

The PDP Prayer Network in the statement issued by its national coordinator, Emmanuel Chukwu described the challenge from Kalu as “unfortunate and diversionary” saying the letter has the potential of turning the people against the government in the state.

The Abia PDP Prayer Network said that having served as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Abia State for 10 years that Kalu was the wrong person to have written the letter.

“Ordinarily, we would have ignored Mr. Ume Kalu for not disappointing those who have known him but because he attempted to make himself a cheap hero,” Mr. Chukwu said.

While faulting his activities and relationship with his community while he was attorney general and commissioner of justice, the group challenged Mr. Kalu to address issues it said have been raised against him.

“Mr. Ume Kalu and his co-travelers should be gracious to the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly and the government of Abia State for governing the state with the fear of God,” the group submitted.
