Poor communication
A study conducted by marriage experts revealed that 50 percent of participants cited poor communication like arguing too much and not being able to talk to each other as responsible for marriage failure. Here again, communication problems can be the cause of other reasons people give for divorce, such as conflict over money and family responsibilities.
Extra marital affairs
Infidelity or adultery has been adduced as one of the common causes of marriage failure. Some people believe infidelity in marriage comes as a result of other problems in the marriage that cannot be resolved. Whatever may lead to infidelity, it is like cancer that destroys a marriage very fast.
Financial incompatibility
Whenever disagreement over how money is spent in the family becomes a frequent practice, it means both are not financially compatible and can end in divorce. There are signs to indicate that both of you are not financially compatible.
When one of you keeps secrets or even lies outrightly about purchases or other financial decisions (like making investments or withdrawing money from savings) also when you set financial goals together but one of you keeps subverting them.
Domestic abuse
Women and men tend to have very different views of domestic abuse as a cause of divorce. Women are more likely than men to suffer intimate partner abuse and this may lead to divorce.
Conflict over family responsibilities
The conflict may be on how to raise their kids, child care responsibilities and other household responsibilities. According to study, women are more likely to cite this as the cause of divorce than men.
