Police Apprehend 16 For Vandalizing Govt Property In Katsina
The police in Katsina have apprehended 16 youths for allegedly vandalizing government properties in the state.
The suspects within the age range of 40 to 15, reportedly vandalized government properties installed around the ongoing underpass (flyover) construction in Katsina State Capital.

The suspects arrested have been identified as 40-year-old Aliyu Danlami, 22-year-old Abubakar Lawal, 21-year-old Abubakar Dahiru, 20-year-old Buhari Lawal, 20-year-old Aminu Tasi’u, 19-year-oldAbba Lawal, 16-year-old Mohammed Lawal, 20-year-old Salisu Ibrahim, 21-year-old Abubakar Bashar, 18-year-old Sulaiman Isah, 18-year-old Awwal Abubakar, 21-year-old Bilyaminu Ibrahim, 15-year-old Haruna Saleh, 20-year-old Abdullahi Lawal, and Da’ud Isah.
Isah Gambo the state police Katsina spokesperson, said the items recovered from them include cable wires, shovels and diggers.
Upon being questioned, a good number of them denied the allegation, claiming that they were just passing by when they were arrested. “I came to buy “suya meat” around there when I was arrested. I did not tamper with any of the items as alleged,” one of them said.
Isah however stated that the suspects were arrested “based on credible information.” The statement added;
“Suspects were arrested at Kofar Kaura area vandalizing Government installations, at the newly approved site for the construction of the underpass costing millions of naira.
“Upon instant search, two (2) shovels, one (1) digger and some quantity of cable wires were recovered from them. Investigation is ongoing.”
