Buhari’s Men, Critics, Mum As Nigerians Hail Aisha Yefusu’s Husband @ 60

Supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari and his critics were on Friday joined in an unusual agreement of silence as Aisha Yesufu, one of the greatest critics of the administration opened up on her marriage as her husband clocked 60.

While normally effusive social media commentators supportive of and critical of President Buhari kept mute, unbiased Nigerians were on the other hand effusive in praise of Aisha and her chartered accountant husband, Aliu Yesufu.

Aisha Yesufu has stirred the ire of the Buhari administration through her social activism and labelling of the Buhari administration on account of its challenges in governance. The same degree of antagonism from the Buhari administration and its supporters was also drawn from the preceding administration of Goodluck Jonathan.

Former aides of President Jonathan blame her for her rousing campaign to bring back the Chibok School Girls as one of the major incident points that led to the defeat of the former president in the 2015 presidential election.

The failure of the Buhari administration to act in redressing the spate of insecurity in the country also brought a faceoff leading to the confrontations that positioned Aisha Yesufu at the head of some of the major challenges against the government.

While Aisha Yesufu spurred Twitter to celebrate her husband, Aliu who she presented with adoration and loved up pictures, supporters of the Buhari administration and its critics, mostly drawn from the Jonathan administration were mute.

The presidency was not surprisingly mum on the landmark achieved by the spouse of one of the country’s most prominent social crusaders.

Aisha Yesufu had opened the floodgate of good wishes for her husband at 60 with a tweet:

The tweet had received more than 6,600 likes.

She also gave notice of how her husband’s service in the public service had received several investigations, especially during the EndSARS protest.

A chartered accountant of over 33 years. Worked in public service for 8 years. They have searched and searched and they met a man who when he was in government ensured accountability and transparency.

It has them stumped and even the lies they resort to scatter before their eyes!

Noting how her husband has helped in building her up, she tweeted:

One of the most endearing things about my husband is how he puts my growth first. He has given of himself for me to be whom I am today. He calls himself my manager and he truly is. He is the anchor that keeps me from going adrift. #AliuYesufuIs60
