VIDEO: See How Girl Was Brutalized By Stepmother In Sokoto

Social media users have erupted with fury and anger following the release of a video and pictures of a young girl who was beaten and abused by her stepmother in Sokoto.

According to the post, the young girl, Hafsat Zilkifilu was abused by the stepmother with the knowledge of the father, who is a retired customs officer.

A sad-looking Haftsat can be seen with black eyes, a bandaged broken hand, an injured leg and other serious injuries on her body.

The post reads, “#justiceforHafsat this is Hafsat Zilkifilu, she got beaten by her stepmother. Rahila Yakubu and her father is aware. He is a retired customs officer, his name is Alhaji Zilkifilu Abdullahi Ajiya Argungu. #justiceforhafsat.

Reacting to the unfortunate incident, social media users empathized with young Hafsat, querying why stepmothers were fond of maltreating their stepchildren, while some other users called for the arrest of her dad and stepmother.
