Mixed Reactions As Hijab-Wearing Shatu Garko Wins 2021 Miss Nigeria Pageant

Mixed reactions have continued to trail the emergence of 18-yr-old hijab model, Shatu Garko as the winner of the 2021 Miss Nigeria Pageant.

Shatu Garko who represented the North-West region beat off competition from 18 other contestants to emerge as the 44th Miss Nigeria.

Garko who enjoys horse-riding is the first-ever hijab model and muslim to win the Miss Nigeria contest.

Following the emergence of Shatu Garko as Miss Nigeria, some Nigerians took to social media to air out their opinions.

These users hailed the hijab model, saying she deserved it, while commenting on her beauty.

This year’s miss Nigeria edition, I noticed that few of the ladies are Muslims and very comfortable. I love the diversity and acceptance and the way it’s going.
