Aisha Buhari Not Ill, Not Pregnant – Aide

Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari is not pregnant and is hale and hearty contrary to reports in some sections of the social media.

Sulaiman Haruna a senior aide of the First Lady came out on Tuesday to debunk the stories of Aisha Buhari being pregnant after pictures of her with a protruding stomach filled the internet following her return with President Muhammadu Buhari from an official trip to Turkey.

Mr. Haruna claimed that the reports especially suggestions that the First Lady was afflicted with an ailment that made her to have a protruding stomach were inspired by mischief.

In an interview with BBC Pidgin, the presidency official while asserting that Aisha Buhari is hale hearty and also confirmed that she was not pregnant.

“I can tell you 100 percent that our First Lady is perfectly hale hearty and she’s not ill or pregnant as some people report,” he said in ruling out the reports about Aisha Buhari who is 50 as being pregnant.

“Some of these reports are just from mischief makers who don’t mean well.

“You know nowadays, people can manipulate pictures,” he added.
