Senate Confirms Appointment Of Mu’azu Jaji As Minister
The Senate has confirmed the appointment of Mu’azu Jaji Sambo, from Taraba State, as a minister.
He replaces the former Minister of Power, Mamman Sale, who was sacked in September along with Sabo Nanono, ex-agriculture minister.

President Muhammadu Buhari had, in a letter dated December 8, 2021, requested the Senate to confirm the nominee.
During his screening, Sambo said he knew the problem stalling the commencement of the Mambila power project and assured that he would make a difference within a year in office if posted to the power ministry.
He said: “The experience I’ve gathered in the course of my 35 years in service which spanned different fields, will help Mr President in his drive to fix the infrastructural deficit in the country.”
Responding to questions on Mambila power project, he said it was disappointing that Nigerians, in 2021, were still talking about the project, which has been on the drawing board since the days of First Republic.
He said the major constraint stalling the take-off of the project had been an arbitration case in Paris.
“There must be a way we can compensate the company that took us to court. If I’m posted to the power ministry upon confirmation by the Senate, I will definitely make a difference in one year. I know where the problem is and I can crack it,” he said.
